The Italian Association of Conservation Scientists, no profit and recently founded, has the aim to promote and coordinate initiatives for the divulgation and education of the importance of Science in the Cnservation of Cultural Hritage.

The Association, growing time by time, has among its principal goals the definition and the development of the professional figure of the Conservation Scientist, in order to integrate in one professional identity the present and future scientific specialists of the field.

To reach these goals, the Association intends to and has already undertook:

-    publishing, awareness and information initiatives, such as meetings, exhibitions, vocational courses;

-    research and scientific divulgation activities in schools;

-    a dialog with the other professional associations, the Institutions and trade unions, in order to develop common paths for the professional protection and reform.

To increase its action over the entire national territory, the association established some regional departments. These independent structures cooperate to develop ideas, to meet requirements and answer to problems which arise inside the concerning local area.

L'Italian Association of Conservation scientists, associazione non profit, di recente costituzione, nasce con la finalità di promuovere e attivare iniziative volte a dare sempre maggiore visibilità alla  figura e al ruolo del conservation scientist e della scienza della conservazione dei Beni Culturali.

L'associazione, acquisendo progressivamente  rappresentatività, peso e forza operativa, ha inserito tra le sue finalità principali una definizione quanto più condivisa del profilo professionale del Conservation Scientist  nell 'intento di integrare professionalità scientifiche già consolidate e futuri esperti scientifici del settore.

Per raggiungere tali obiettivi, l’associazione prevede e ha già intrapreso:

- iniziative  a carattere editoriale, di sensibilizzazione e informazione, quali convegni, mostre tematiche, corsi,

- attività di formazione professionale;

- attività di ricerca e di divulgazione scientifica all’interno delle scuole;

- un confronto continuo con le altreassociazioni di professionisti, leIstituzioni e i sindacati al fine di sviluppare percorsi comuni di riforma e tutela professionale

Per una maggiore azione sull’intero territorio nazionale, l’associazione ha costituito, già da diversi anni, alcune sezioni regionali. Queste strutture, autonome, operano, in stretta collaborazione con la rappresentanza nazionale, per sviluppare idee, rispondere ad esigenze e problemi, che nascono all’interno dellaparticolare area territoriale di competenza.
